Two compact electric robots bring water-jet concrete removal into tunnels and shafts.
Aquajet announced two new hydrodemolition robots, the Aqua Cutter 450A and 450V, ahead of their debut at bauma 2025 in Munich, Equipment World reported on 8 April 2025.
Smaller siblings of the 750V
Both machines are electric and carry the Evolution 3.0 control system and the patented Infinity oscillation, which swings the water jet in a figure-eight pattern to strip concrete more efficiently. Aquajet says they can absorb reaction forces up to 1,400 N and clean rebar without causing microfractures in the remaining concrete.
Two different reaches
The 450A uses an articulated hydraulic arm with three telescopic extensions that reaches about 3 m, aimed at tunnels, culverts and parking garages. The 450V swaps that for a tower that reaches 4 m unsupported and up to 10 m with support, for shafts, high walls and overhead work.
Why it matters
A detachable power control module lets the radio-controlled, submersible crawler go into flooded pipes or hazardous spaces while the power unit stays somewhere safe. Zero-emission electric drive also suits enclosed urban repair jobs where diesel equipment is a problem.
