ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-4623 covers printed concrete walls.
In October 2022 ICC-ES issued ESR-4623 to Black Buffalo 3D. It was the first evaluation report under AC509, the criteria for 3D-printed concrete walls.
What it covers
The report covers walls printed by Black Buffalo's NEXCON printers with MAPEI's Planitop 3D material. It includes bearing, nonbearing and shear walls up to 40 feet high.
Why it matters
Building officials need a code path to approve printed structures. This report gave them one.
