Charge Robotics raises $22M for portable solar factories

Sunrise assembles and installs solar tracker hardware on site.

On 12 March 2025 MIT News reported that Charge Robotics had raised a $22 million Series B. The company builds portable factories for solar farms.

Sunrise

Sunrise is a fully automated factory that travels to utility-scale sites and assembles and installs solar tracker hardware. A prototype worked with SOLV Energy.

Investors

Climate Capital led the round. Founders Fund, Lux Capital and Construct Capital also invested.

Why it matters

Bringing the factory to the field cuts the repetitive assembly crews do in the sun.
