Copenhagen, 23 October 2024. The third COBOD printer is built for rows of low-rise homes on one site.
COBOD International launched the BOD3, its third printer model, on 23 October 2024. It was already working in Indonesia, Angola and Bahrain when the company announced it.
The track is the point
The BOD3's key feature is an extendable ground-based track. The printer runs along it on the long axis, so one setup can cover two or three buildings, and the crew does not tear down and reinstall the gantry between houses. COBOD says it is built for serial, low-rise housing and runs with a crew of four.
The printer also adds an operator stand, an Advanced Hose Management System that carries material to the printhead in E-chains, and dual dosing of additives at the head to cut drying time between layers.
Who is printing with it
COBOD named Modula Tiga Dimensi in Indonesia, Power2Build in Angola and Ab'aad 3D in Bahrain as the first operators. 3D Printing Industry reported that the printer uses real concrete made of 99% local materials and 1% D.fab additive, which COBOD developed with Cemex.
