A smaller drone-in-a-box for automated surveying and inspection.
On 26 March 2024 DJI launched Dock 2 worldwide, about five months after it first appeared in China, according to DroneDJ.
Smaller and lighter
DJI says Dock 2 weighs 34 kg, about 75% smaller and 68% lighter than the first Dock, so two people can carry it and install it by hand.
The drones
It pairs with the new Matrice 3D and 3TD, which have built-in RTK, obstacle sensing, up to 50 minutes of flight time and a roughly 10 km operating radius. Missions run through DJI FlightHub 2 in the cloud.
Why it matters
A dock on site lets a contractor fly the same survey route every day without sending a pilot out.
