Noble Machines exits stealth with the Moby humanoid

The Sunnyvale startup has already shipped robots to a Fortune Global 500 customer.

On 3 March 2026 Noble Machines, formerly Under Control Robotics, came out of stealth and said it had shipped its first general-purpose robots to a Fortune Global 500 industrial customer within 18 months of launching.

The robot

Moby is built for hazardous, physically demanding work in manufacturing, construction, logistics, energy and semiconductors. The company lists a 23 kg (50 lb) payload, five hours of battery and a 0.8 m/s walking speed, and says it can handle stairs, scaffolding and uneven ground. It runs autonomously, with a teleoperator able to step in.

Learning by demonstration

Noble says Moby learns skills in hours through language instructions, demonstrations and gestures. At NVIDIA GTC on 17 March 2026 it showed the third-generation Moby3 moving bins, with CEO Wei Ding telling Reuters the goal is training a task as fast as onboarding a person.

Why it matters

Founded in 2024 by engineers from Apple, SpaceX, NASA and Caltech, Noble is pitching a deploy-first approach: prove value at a customer site, then scale. Construction is named as a target market, and material handling is common work on every jobsite.
