New York, August 2024. Skyline Robotics' window-cleaning robot goes to work at 1133 Avenue of the Americas.
Skyline Robotics announced on 28 August 2024 that Ozmo had started full-time work at 1133 Avenue of the Americas, the Durst Organization's 45-story tower in Manhattan.
Arms on a gondola
Ozmo mounts robotic arms on a building's maintenance unit and uses LiDAR, computer vision and force sensing to clean the glass, with a human operator on the roof. The Robot Report said it cleans up to three times faster than conventional methods.
From retrofit to new builds
In December 2024 Skyline and Alimak Group announced a partnership to build Ozmo into automated building-maintenance units for new construction worldwide. Alimak also invested. That moves the robot from a retrofit on one tower toward equipment that ships with the building.
