The underfloor insulation robot company splits into installations and technology arms.
On 30 July 2024 Q-Bot said it had closed a £1.5 million fundraising, led and syndicated by EMV Capital.
The robot
Q-Bot's remotely operated robot goes under a suspended timber or concrete floor and sprays a continuous layer of foam insulation onto the underside. That cuts heat loss and blocks cold draughts.
Track record
NetScientific's filing put Q-Bot's insulation revenue at £11.6 million from nearly 5,000 UK installations, plus more than £200,000 from France.
The plan
The money supports splitting Q-Bot into an installations business and a technology business.
Why it matters
Retrofitting old homes is slow, cramped work. A robot that works under the floor means no one has to lift the floorboards.
